Writing love letters
Luckily I was able to take a picture of it before it went to her true loves hands!
The Front- "It can't be pink mama, boys don't like pink"
The Back- It says it all.

A conversation with Abigail...
Me: ABigail, sit up and stay still still so I don't pull your hair
Abigail (silently sobbing): Mommy, I am not happy

So very lucky!!!
I expected to have some storm clean up this morning because of the wind thunder and lightening last night but did not expect anything like this! We are so very lucky. This tree is (was) right next to our house. If it had fallen the other way we would have lost a significant part of our house...including my mother's bedroom. All that damage and we slept right through it.

Finally!!!!
It is finally getting warm. It has been a long cold (at least for Wilmington standards) winter and we are excited that the weather is finally starting to change and it is about time! Wednesday Abigail needed to be in a sweatshirt to go to the park but today was warm enough for a swim in her little turtle pool...although she was not quite willing to get completely wet!
Tomorrow we are heading to our FIFTH egg hunt of the season. Their is lot to be said for a community that likes egg hunts! Then to the book store and home to dye eggs. Sunday will be church, home , food and then sadly early to bed because vacation is over.
Happy Easter to all!

You know you need to clean more often...
Saturday I decided to clean Abigails room. I mean REALLY clean it. I decided to take everything out of her room to sweep and mop the floors, wash the walls and give it a full spring cleaning.
As I was moving Ab's Stuffed Animal tree out of her room I noticed that there was a thick pile of leaves stuck between the wall and the tree, I was about to yell at Abigail (yet again) when I realized there were A LOT of leaves and that they were all stuck together. BRAVELY I used my broom to knock them to the floor, and this is when I noticed it was a nest. A little internet research and I learend it was a Carolina Wrens next. Luckily there were no birds or eggs in it!
The nest was relocated to a safe location and I spent Saturday afternoon DISINFECTING Abigails room. She is now happily playing and sleeping in a newly cleaned and bird(and nest) free room!

St. Jude Trike-A-Thon
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is an amazing hospital. It is the only pediatric cancer hospital where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance and no child isdenied treamtnet because of the families inability to pay. I have great memories of participating in the St. Jude's Math-A-Thon as a child and I am excited to be able to continue this tradition with Abigail.
Our goal for fundraising is $100. I know that is pretty hard the way the economy is, but if anyone would like to donate you can either email me or click on the Donate Now button on this blog. All donations are tax deductable. Click here to lear more about St. Jude and the Trike-A-Thon

Hair
Abigail is all girl. From her love of pretty dresses and the color pink, to her shoe collection that rivals Emelda Marcos’s she is all girl. Except when it comes to her hair! That is because I have no idea how to do her hair and 90% of the time I don’t have the time or the energy to try.
Last week a friend shared the links to two different hair style blogs and I decided that I would give it a better effort to do her hair at least several times a week.
Day 1- In Charlotte
I wanted something that would keep her hair out her eyes but give her a girlish look for the Laurie Berkner concert. I don’t know what they are called but it was pretty easy and looked cute…but involved a lot of rubber bands.Day 3-
Today Abigail had her Easter Party. I wanted to give her a cute hair style that was partyish but also neat. I am also trying to grow Abigail’s hair out but every time it gets to that awkward stage I cut it. Hopefully if I style it in a way that is neat and out of her eyes I will have the patience to let it grow.
