ANd she writes!

Abigail has been out sick for the past three days. Amazingly she is in the 0.01% of people who get strep after a tonsillectomy. Since she has been and pretty ill and sedate the last few days she seems to have set her mental energy toward writing.

Today Abigail decided to play waitress and take our breakfast orders; which she does all the time....but today she actually wrote them down! I guess 2010 will be the year of paper and pencil for Abigail! Here they are (with some translating if needed)

Saying Goodbye

Abigail's little friend Shane move to Ohio nearly 2 weeks ago. She is surely missing him but you can tell she is getting used to living in a beach town with a nearby military community. She knows that people move...and keeps telling everyone that she will be moving to New York City...when she is 5 and a BIG KID.

(The New Man is already trying to move in)

If you give a kid a nap ...

at 5pm then she will surely wake up as you are heading for bed at 12am.

She will see you are reading and insist that she wants to win the contest and that she needs to read a book to you.

And when she reads the book to you she will insist that you need to cut out (and put up) her heart...and that she needs to come with you.

As she walks past the kitchen she will claim she is starving and beg for a peanut butter sandwhich, and when the sandwhich makes her mouth dry she will plead for a glass of orange juice to wash it down.

Since she is 3 she will need to pee before going back to sleep.

And, of course, once she lays down...she will ask for a story again.

Experimenting

We actually did this during Christmas break but I never got a chance to share them here. Abigail got a cool chemistry set for Christmas from her Aunt Liza and Uncle Nicholas.

The first experiment we did was making a "rainbow" volcano. It was not really a rainbow...but the pink, purple and blue colors were really pretty and Abigail love making explosion after explosion.

Icecream in a Bag

One of the cool books Abigail got for Christmas is Ancient Science. It is a kids world history book that has simple and some not so simple science activities in it for kids. So far everyone we have tried Ab has loved.

Today was no different. Today we made Ice Cream in a Bag. Or at least we tried to. It was closer to Milkshakes in a bag. I messed up the recipe a bit and the bigger bag broke before the 5 minutes were up but it was yummy none the less. Even with the bag breaking and our "experiment" not working perfectly If you want to try it you can find the recipe by googling "ice cream in a bag"

drawing this is. I am going to keep publishing as much of Abigails art and writing as I can right now, because I know this period of prolific art will be ending soon. I love when she is willing to put anything down on paper so I am going to share as much as possible while it lasts.

oh and if you cannot figure it out it is a person with rosie cheeks.
