What an imagination!!

Today I was getting ready for dinner when Abigail came into my room and started playing with a stuffed dog. She said "woof woof" which is new to me. I had heard dog but not "woof". Anyway, she then started crawling-something she has not done in MONTHS- and I said to her "get up!". She turned, looked at me and said "woof woof". She was PRETENDing to be a dog!!

This made my day!!

The Good , the Bad and the GRUMPY

The Good: ABigail has memorized some of the lines in her book Wendle's Day. She will respond in the right place, with the right word!! This kid LOVES books so much.

The Bad:Apparently their was a 9-1-1 hang up from my house. My darling daughter had dialed 9-1-1 and then hung up. Needless to say she will not be playing with the phone any more!

The GRUMPY: We went to Charlotte this weekend and Abigail did NOT get enough sleep. She has been so grumpy all day! Hopefully another good night's sleep will help

Hope everyone had a nice relaxing weekend!

J-E-L-L "Uh oh"

***Warning Sugar given to toddler mentioned***

First off yes, I give my child Jello. I actually bring it for lunch and she got hooked. So today afterwork, I went to grab one as an Afterschool snack. Somehow Abigail managed to get into my lap and ate 1/2 of it. I put her down. She walks away, comes back and says "uh oh". I figured she fell again. I check her hand, wrist, arm, elbow. Everything seems fine. She says "uh oh" again. She is getting VERY ANGRY now. Keeps looking at me saying "UH OH UH OH UH OH" . She finally takes the empty jello container off of the table and looks me right in the eye and says "Uh Oh" It was like she was saying "Com'on idiot can't you figure that out"

She wanted another jello. I got another one, that we shared and she was very happy

...better then being hit by a car

That is what the doctor at the ER said Friday night as he was putting Abigails elbow back into place. Poor baby had a "stereotypical" case of nursemaids elbow. For those that have not experienced this it is when your preschooler dislocates her elbow.

Abigail made a run for the doors at Wal-Mart on Friday night and fell as I went to grab her hand. When she stood up she was not moving her arm at all. She was crying on and off but I thought she was tired and had enough for the day. I put her to bed, only to look in on her at 11pm and see that in 2 hrs she had not moved her arm at all. So we headed to the ER.

I have to say I was so impressed by the New Hanover Hospital Emergency Room. They were great. They had us back in the room within 10 minutes , and the MD was with us in less then 2 more. We were actually discharged before the woman from registration came to see us. Not so sure if it was because Abigail was SCREAMING the entire time we were their, or because they understood the anxiety she had and the pain she was in. Needless to say the doctor QUICKLY reduced her elbow and Abigail was home and in bed by 12:30.

Trick or Treat

Yesterday was the big day! First time trick or Treating. Abigails friend came over and we trick or treated all over the
neighborhood.

Abigail did not quite "get it". She liked visiting with all the neighbors but was more then willing to give the candy back before we left each house

She did manage to find out how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop.
